I found a penny from 1940. The back is completely blank, as if nothing was ever printed on it. Misprint??

I was wondering if anyone would know an estimate on this. I tried looking around to see if there were mis-printed pennies that year, but that was to no avail.

The back does not look like it was worn down, but rather, nothing was ever printed on it. It is entirely smooth, while the front is completely in normal condition.

If anyone can provide any information, I would greatly appreciate it!

It probably wore off. a lot.

It depends!!!! where did you find it? take it to the bank they should offer some help!!!!!!!!!! it possibly wore off over time......although 1940 is not a very long time(It was only made 60 + yrs ago)!!!! It could mean somethng to? Probably it is fraud? I am realy interested to know more about this so please e mail me @ [e-mail] when you find out the history behind this oldie!!!:)
