I was playing soccer in my backyard when I noticed a black thing in the yard. It almost looked like a worm but it was much fater and longer. It was not big, but I'm not sure how long because my mom most of ran it over with the lawn mower. I was about the size of a childs shoe lace. It was all black until I tured it over and noticed its stomach was bright yellow with these black dots on the yellow. I believe it isnt a garden snake but I'm not sure. Please help me find out what kind this snake is. It could have been a baby snake too. Thank you.

  1. sounds like a Michigan ring-neck snake.  Google it and see if that's what it was...

  2. it was probaly a blcak racer

  3. It was probably a  hatchling speckled Kingsnake,a very beautiful snake.Did your mother kill it,then? What a shame,as they are harmless and eat poisonous snakes. They are black with yellow speckles and a yellow belly.
