I found a spider in my closet, and it needs to die! But I don't want to get near it..!?

Question

So...I just opened my closet door for the first time in about 5 months, to find a brown spider had made a home on one of my pillows. I am serious afraid of spiders, and I refuse to go near it, but I have to get to something in my closet and the little punk is in my way! :[

I've heard people saying they've used hair spray, alcohol, bleach, and other cleaners to kill spiders. I don't have exactly the widest range of cleaning suplies, but have you ever used any of these, and how well did they work? And if you use some other death liquid that can be found around the house, what do you use?

We've used lysol disinfectant spray before. Just pray it really well and leave it a bit. Plus your pillow will be germ free and smell nice. Rofl.

use the long attachment on your hoover and suck the  nasty lil crawler up!!

I'm sure you've got some kind of liquid cleanser in your house...hairspray...just anything that you can use while keeping a distance, haha...don't worry. =)

If you spray it, and it starts moving towards you, just move back and keep on spraying!

i have used Windex and plain old hot boiling water!  good luck and i feel your pain for i too am terrified of em'

DON'T kill it or harm it. Its a living creature and has every right to be alive as YOU do. Simply leave it be OR capture it with a net or a plastic cup and newspaper and put it out side.
