I found a spider in my house that was about the size of a nickel including legs and had red on its back.?

I can't find anything on the internet to identify it. Please help.

If it's all black & has a little red thing on it's back kill it! It's a black widow!!!

Possibly a black widow which is extremely poisonous. Call pest control if you dont want to die from the poison. You dont want to accidentally get bitten and die with your family finding you on the floor. And what if there are more?

I thought black widow spiders had marking on the underside of the abdomen. but nor sure.

Suggest you step on it had flush it.

Note the eyes and the way it holds its legs.  Check out this site for other spiders.  They are perfectly harmless.  I let one stay on my window sill to catch and kill flies for me.  If you tap your finger in front of it it will raise its front legs and jump at you like it was going to attack.

Is the red shaped like an egg timer? If it is, it's probably a Black Widow, and they are deadly. Kill it anyway though.

If you live in the southern states of the USA (rare cases northern states due to traveling in a car or some sort) it sounds to me like a black widow. A good indication, is the size, completely black with a red hour glass on it's back. Their very venoumous and their bite and venom is very painful as it attacks the nervous system and CAN be fatal.

spiders like dark places such as closet cornors, and specificly shoes. Tap your shoes everytime you put them on (like they do in cowboy movies for scorpions) to see if their is a spider, and if their is throw it outside.

It might be a black widow. It has a red hour glass shape on its back. I suggest you do some research about it.

If your in Australia they have a "Red Back Spider" similar to our Black Widow but the Widows red hourglass is on the belly.

well if it was a black widow it would under the tummy a red spot so it might not be somthing bad as you think but i dont know what it would be but i wouldent worry about it
