Well first of all my room use to be a garage and now is a room with A/C etc... just a plain room... and am not a very clean person sometimes leaving clothes and papers and don't sweep my floor alot. Just now I so happen to catch this spider just barley because i was switching plugs and I saw it. It looked like a widow but I was not to sure because when I killed it, it was black but looked brown or green dots around the back area. It was at the corner were it gets dusty fast.

I would like to know what type of spider it might be beacuse I always asume a spider i never seen is a very deadly one.

  1. I haven't gone a day since the thaw without seeing a spider somewhere, and I sweep my floor every day and vacuum twice a week. You don't need dirt to have spiders - they go anywhere, dirty or clean, and can slide in through cracks so small you can barely see them.

Fewer than one in a thousand species are poisonous, and those that are poisonous are usually only mildly so.

  2. It could be one of several types of spider. Most are harmless to people, but it's a good idea to be sure. You might Google "spider" and see if there is a site that identifies them. By the way, you said that the corner gets dusty fast. That could mean that there is a draft nearby and air can leak into the room. Check all around the floor and see if there is a place where air can enter, and seal it off to keep out other unwanted roommates.

  3. You'll probably get a few extra mosquitoes without that guy around.

  4. A black widow spider is a shinny black with red or yellow hourglass shaped spots on the body. Not known to be deadly (unless you were a bug) or highly allergic to that type of bite.
