I found a sprint blackberry i want to use for sprint under my name?

ok so what can i do? i want to use it but under all my info and use it on sprint not another carrier. im not sure if its locked but it probably is. ive had it for about a month and my sister(who gave it to me) said she won it a raffle at work when the owner didnt turn up. (she works at a luxury car dealership). she didnt use it because she has the b curve with verizon and she absolutly loves them. the blackberry is in good condition so i just dont want to buy a new one.(cnat afford it_

help please: how can i get it activated.....i dont want to donate it and returning it is impossible.

First, take the battery out to reveal the ESN number.  All sprint phones have this number. Take it to a sprint store or call their customer service number to make sure the esn number is clean/clear. If the phone was actually lost or stolen, you will not be able to activate it.  If the ESN is clear, you can activate the phone on your sprint account, provided you have a sprint account.
