Its body was about three inches long, and it looked like an overgrown Western Waterscorpion. I don't think it is a western waterscorpion, though, since it's too big and I live in MD and I don't live near water. Except for the exceptions I've listed, it looks exactly like the western waterscorpion.
I used a piece of paper to maneuver it out of my car and stuck it in one of my trees.
It doesn't look like a Northern walkingstick.
I'm comparing it to photos in my National Audubon Society Field Guide to Insects and Spiders.
Any clues as to what it is?
Even a website with lots of photos would be helpful.
