  1. I had the same exact problem a few years ago with a baby dove.  We took him in over the summer and gave him a little water and bought some bird food til he was older and we set him free.  You could try that if it's not too much trouble.

    Hope this helped =]

  2. the mother wont come now. she probably kicked him out cuz something was wrong with him.. get the baby bird and keep him warm.. feed him baby food through a syringe and a couple of drops of water EVERY 45 MINUTES.. i did this once and saved two baby birds and set them free when they grew.

  3. Baby birds fall out of their nest all the time. Never touch the baby, since the smell of human skin will cause the mother to abandon it if she ever finds it again.

Most often the mother will look for the baby and find it and coax it back to the nest as best as she can.

  4. The mother will not come pick it up. If you get a old towel or shoe box, place it in the same tree as high as you can get it.

That should work, dont worrie about touching them. Birds have a bad sence of smell.

If it doesnt work than You need to go to the petstore and get some formula. Formula for all birds. Get one cup and fill it with 1 cup of formula and one cup of warm water( The little cup that came with formula). Mix it well and use a syringe to feed it. Dont do too much at a time or it may regergitate. DONT give it water. It will choke. There is the right amount of water in the formula needed. Dont feed it worms. They have bacteria that could hurt them, only mom can break it down. When they are fledgling which it sounds like it to me they can eat watermelon, mealworms(HEADS cut off or they will eat its insides), bananas, veggies, and seeds(wild bird seed). Unless it cant hopp or sit on your finger or have any feathers you can feed him formula and he other foods listed. If he is pecking at stuff when you hold it then he doesnt need syringe. Only a bird cup.

Well if it a fledgling. It needs a cage, perches, and feed/ water cups. The cage can be for a cockatiel, thats a fine sixe for it. Cut up all the foods listed and place them in the food dich and sprinkle seeds on the bottom of the cage and mealworms(With heads cut off) on the bottom, it teaches them how to foriege. You can even add a mirror. It keeps them intertained. Make sure that you keep the cage cleam with newspaper on the botom. The bird will be more happier. Place the cage near a window to calm him down as well.

When he can fly you can release him outside. As long as he can fly. He may come to you for food though. You could even keep him if you would like but get a bigger cage for him.

    Goodluck

  5. so place it in a cage with an open door where the mother can still feed it and the cats cant get into. Placed in a cage you can close the door in the night time and she can feed it during the night through the bars.

  6. If you can, try and use a ladder to get the bird back in the nest. Birds have bad senses of smell, so don't worry about the mom rejecting it if you touch it. If you can't get it back in the tree, you should take it to an animal refuge in your area as soon as possible. DO NOT TRY AND GIVE IT FOOD OR WATER. You can kill it because they have very weak immune systems and if you have germs on your hands it is probably going to kill it. Also, handle it with gloves. Good luck.

  7. Just wait, the mother should come down to get her child.
