I found an egg that looks like a turttle egg in the water?

how can i tell if the egg is still alive? and the its a turttle egg? The egg was slimmy when i pick it up...so im guessing it has'nt been there that long , i moved it to a tank with pot soil and ligh temp is bout 83 ...how can i tell if the egg is alive and of a turttle...kind looks like a red ear slider egg by the imges online

  1. You should leave it and let it hatch. If it's dead then it will decay, but if you take it away from where you found it  and aren't able to give it what it needs then it will die.


  2. It's probably dead, having been laid in the water. It should not be slimy, either; there may be fungus growing on it now. However, as long as it doesn't stink, you can always try to hatch it out.

  3. Chances are it won't be alive because only pig nosed turtles eggs can survive in water and they hatch when submerged. Also reptile eggs cannot be turned uppside down for any length of time because the baby inside them drowns. If you want then keep it for a few days and if it starts to rott then chuck it out

  4. yummm!  fry it up!

  5. Do not eat it. You shouldn't eat it because they are close extinction they are illegal to eat in some places. SO DonT EAT it! [=

  6. you should have left it alone.  It is probably dead now.
