I found an injured bird. HALP!?

its dark brown almost black with black eyes and a really skinny black beak. its about the size of a sparrow and its in southern california. what is it?

  1. Hard to say what species it is for sure with that description..possibly a female Brewer's Blackbird.  Are you sure this is an injured bird?  I ask because it is breeding season and there are a lot of baby birds that cannot fly yet, and people think they are injured and take them in, not knowing that their parents are caring for them.  If you are sure this is an injured bird..then you need to get it to a local wildlife rehab.  Look here..there are several listings for the Los Angeles area:
