I found an old metal key and keyring from the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, it was among some old family antiques. It must have been taken before or around 1953. Is it worth anything?

  1. if now in America, probably nothing, mabye illegal just like Cuban cigars.

  2. Well, that keyring is from pre-revolutionary times. It may be worth something to someone just because of what it represents timewise....however, as someone said, it may be valuable as happy memories in your family antiques. Don't lose it or give it away...things like that are worth keeping.

That said, why don't you try this link and contact info to see how much it's worth if you really want to know its value. Antiques are from license plates to books to money, etc...maybe this would be considered a memorabillia.

*edit: true, as someone mentioned, it does belong to the hotel...although at this point in time it is highly unlikely that they'll be using keys for their doors at that hotel. If you feel better for returning it, then you can do so...or, just contact the hotel and just tell them what happened. They probably will not ask for it back. But it's worth a shot.

  3. memories.....

  4. Presumably it was taken without permission. Why don't you return it to the owner?
