Question:

I found cinnamon in the cupboards at my new place?

I just moved in to a new apartment, the building is 80 years old. The previous tenants did not clean at all, and I found what appears to be mice droppings in one kitchen drawer.

I also found coffee filters made into little packets filled with cinnamon, and I am wondering if this was done to keep mice away. Do you know what little critters the cinnamon might have been used to keep away?

Thanks!

  1. That is disgusting, I hope you like cats to keep those ugly mouses away. Good luck?

  2. I'm guessing the cinnamon was for ants.

Mice do not like chamomile, and roaches do not like catnip.  If you've found droppings, buy a couple of boxes of chamomile tea, and place the bags throughout your apartment.  If you have the time and money, I'd suggest getting a cat.

PS - Good luck with your new joint.

edit:  Three cats?  No worries.  The mice will not be there for long.
