I found money in an suitcase from a trip I took in 2000.

Can I still exchange Italian Lire back into us dollars?

  1. Yes, you can exchange it at any bank that does currency conversions.


  2. Even if you have Lire, a foreign exchange place such as a bank or the airport will be able to convert it to a EURO and then into US Dollars. They will also be able to convert them directly to US Dollars.

    It may not be a used currency but the government has to convert it because its still worth money.

  3. Take it to a bank that does foreign exchange or a place like Amex Travel or Thomas Cook that does this. However, I honestly don't know if they will exchange lira any more. It has been years since Italy converted to the Euro.

  4. maybe with italian lire you can buy a us travelers check
