  1. Benign cysts, most likely. However the youngest woman I have seen die of breast cancer was your age.  So get the lumps looked at.  Odds of cancer at your age are low, but there is always the exception.

  2. If they are in both b*****s and if they are tender then they are probably NOT cancer.  Symmetrical lumps (lumps appearing in more or less the same place in each breast) are not cancerous.  Lumps that are tender are not cancerous.

Your b*****s consist of many different kinds of tissue.  some of the tissues are glandular, and glandular tissues will swell, harden, and become tender or painful for some women depending on where they are in their monthly cycle.  It is not unusual for women to get sore lumps in their b*****s when they are ovulating or right before they begin to menstruate.

You need to do a monthly breast self-exam so that you become familiar with your own b*****s and know which lumps and bumps are normal and which are new or unusual or changing from their usual shape, size, or texture.  Monitor these lumps and be sure that they are doing the same thing every month (swelling a bit, getting tender, then subsiding again.)  If they are, you can be safe in assuming that this is normal glandular tissue reacting as usual to hormones.

If they continue to grow bigger or if you notice any inflammation of the skin of your breast, check with your doctor.

But ladies, this is why you need to do breast exams right here!  You need to know what your b*****s are like normally so you can detect the changes.
