Question:

I found mold in a flower vase that has dried out mold. Should I be worried? It was on the inside of the vase

I received these flowers a few months ago after I had my first child. My husband I placed it on the ledge above the front door, which is basically in our living room. We completely forgot about it. When I emptied the flowers into the trash I found black mold in the inside, bottom part of the vase. I immediately threw the vase into our outside trash can that we place on the curb every week. Is there anything else that I would need to do to get rid of the mold? I don't see any other mold anywhere on the ledge that the vase was on.

Thanks in advance!

  1. You could have used bleach or even a denture cleaning tablet.

  2. You don't need to worry about mold anymore, but in the future instead of trowing the vase out or if you have mold any other place in the house the best way to kill mold is to use straight bleach to it.

  3. No, it should be fine.  You could have washed out the vase with a bleach solution to save it from going in the trash.
