I found what I think is mouse p**p under a few baseboard heaters, in the corner, and behind my t.v. stand! I have a 9 month old baby who crawls on the floor and puts everything in her mouth. I am alarmed that we might have mice on our 1st floor! I found a dead mouse that is decomposed in the basement by the oil tank. Next to it was p**p. I never heard or saw a mouse in my living room or dining room, but I found p**p! What should I do? Traps are a big no-no with a baby F.Y.I.!!!

  1. go to lowes or other home store and get the live traps that catch the mouse and then you can take it far away to a park or woods and let it go. i bought some at lowes and they worked great. good luck

  2. Mice generally enter a house through the openings where pipes and the such to go into the walls. They leave the walls under sinks  and utility areas where the pipes come into the living space. If your lav or kitchen cabinets have a false bottom, that is where they are living. Sometimes they leave the areas they entered in and hide in closets and other dark places.

Check the pipes under the sinks, if there is any space around the pipe, you have found the mouse doorway. They need only a small crack to squeeze in.  Drop small poison pellets inside the wall through the opening. The baby won't be able to get to the pellets once they are inside the wall.

Get some spray foam and seal up the opening around the pipe. It is also a source of heat loss and is costing you money.

Mouse droppings are the source of Hantavirus Desease. Do not vaccum or sweep mouse droppings up, when the spores of Hantavirus goes airborne, you breath them in and catch the disease.   Use a damp paper towel to clean them up so the dust and spores will stick to the paper towel.

More people die from Hantavirus every year than all the people who have ever died from household mold. For some reason the media goes nuts over mold and doesn't give any attention to Hantavirus.
