Question:

I found my son on this website, do you think it's something he should be going on?

My son is 17 and I found this website in his computer history.

http://jivecontrol.com/

It had a couple curse words on it and some obscenity, and I'm not sure it's something I want him on.

Do any parents or kids themselves agree with me.

  1. he's 17, he's not a baby anymore.

    its fine.

and wait a second, but what are you doing going through the history on his computer? seriously, are you trying to get this kid to hate you right before he moves out or something? let him have some privacy.

  2. He's 17, if you think he's never heard or used every 4 letter word in the book, you are very naive.  Being so over protective will leave them in for a rude awakening in the real world.  The site looked pretty mundane, it couldve been kiddie p**n. I dont see anything wrong on that website that wouldnt be okay for 14+.

Quit spying on your kid!  he's almost legally an adult.

  3. he's seventeen cut the umbilycal cord already.

  4. Only you can be the judge of that.

You are the parent. Talk to your son.

  5. omg he is 17 he is not a little boy anymore

  6. if that's the worse site your son has been on then your in luck

  7. He's probably looking up worse stuff than that man,

    He's getting masturbation material

(you had the magazine under your bed, he has the internet, it all works out)

  8. Yea it has curse words and all but you can't shield your kid from the reality of the world. I mean theres kids out there doing a lot worse. If you try to protect him too much especially over just little websites he may rebel. Just leave him be, let him grow up a little. Hope this helped.

  9. leave him alone!!!! hes 17 not 7

  10. Have you ever seen the show, Family Guy?

That show has dialogue on there that makes ME blush and I'm an Army veteran.

It's on regular TV. My kids are forbidden to watch it.

I consider myself pretty easy-going, but not for this show or "American Dad". Crazy

However, my kids are 1, 3,4, and 8.

It is legal in this country to join the military and give your life for this country.

At 16, it is legal to quit school.

At 16, it is legal to drive a two-ton death machine we refer to as a "car".

At 16, you can hold a job and make your own money.

Now think about that for a moment.

He is only a year from being a full-fledged grown-up.

I'm surprised...shocked, actually, that that is the only website that you've seen him on.

By 17, I had already left home and been pregnant twice. I was engaged and worked full time.

I had already quit school. I had a drinking problem and was being beaten by my boyfriend.

Now put your son's interest into perspective.

Now, isn't he a good boy?

  11. wow! he's 17 let him make his own decisions!

  12. Leave him alone or he will hate you in the end

  13. well i think the site

    is weird so dnt even

be concerned  mean at least its not p**n

and gang drug stuff let the kid lok at retarted

weird websites or if you really dont like it talk to him about

it and explain ur cncerns about it to him and tal it out good luck

  14. I don't see any reason why your son should not visit that website.

  15. i think you should talk to  him about it. Perhaps ask him what it is exactly about. If he is a good kid and respects you, then I say you too should give him respect and let him give his opinion too. He is almost 18. And there are far worse things it could have been. So just talk to him about it and ask him. If he's got a good head on his shoulders, then it's probably not doing him any harm. good luck

  16. well he is 17..let him about his buisness..

  17. I just had a look at the website and it looks quite interesting. It did have a number of curse words in it, but however it seemed nothing more than an informative blog that looked at all the rubbish and nonsense in the world. I'd be proud of your son he seems like an intelligent kid that's actually taking interest in the world around him and taking another look at the world from the bull angle we are all fed.
