  1. that is illegal ,to take it from the wild, and also very cruel! put it back where you found it, that is very mean, they will grow up to 12 inches, and require a pond... and sooooooooooooooooooo much more.

  2. In most places, what you did is illegal.  Go take him back!  He is highly stressed out, probably not being taken care of properly and will do much better where he was.  Please release him.  There are far too many turtles in captivity already that aren't being cared for properly.  Let him live out his life where he should be.

  3. Wild caught turtle and no idea what it is? Great. You better not have stolen an endangered species.

IF YOU WANT A PET, DO THE RESEARCH FIRST AND BUY CAPTIVE BRED!!!!

    Jeeze....

  4. Well it depends on what kind of turtle it is.  Please tell us.  Most wild turtles don't like the reptile food you can buy - they don't know it is food.

  5. reptile sticks are not the only thing he should be eating. You can put a small rock in his aquarium and give him a few crickets. Reptiles do eat insects, it helps with nutrition value. Just some small crickets will suffice for him. Turtles even eat small earth worms from your yard. Reptile sticks could be used as a snack for him but  not a regular diet. If he still doesn't eat the crickets you may want to watch him extra close and take him to a vet who deals with reptiles more often than most.

  6. One week may not be long enough for the turtle to calm down. Try tempting it with a small earthworm. Fishes, soft-bodied insects, and strips of liver dusted in bone meal are good too, but earthworms are the best for getting it started eating.

  7. he wont tocuh them because he's wild. this mean he wont know there food. u need to feed it live bugs (chopped earthworms are good but other things as well) and veggies (such as collard greens and other greens)

u really should put it back wild caught reps hardly ever do well in captivity. the stress and shock of coming into captivity kills many others die due to a lowered immune system (caused by stress). those that survive often have stress related behavior disorders get ill more often are harder to tame and have a shortened lifespan. they also never settle down and have a poor quality of life.

also there is the environmental implications to think about.

i hope u do the right thing and release it. please if u want a pet turtle get a captive bred one from a reputable reptile shop.

  8. return that turtle to the god da** wild if you found it!! but if its captiv bred why don't you list what type of turtle it is EDIT:also I think most turtles will roam there entire lives looking to find where they where if yout ake them 2 miles from there home NICE GOING JACK***

They need a large Fish tank..40 plus at this age.

Did you know that they need to bask under a reptile light UVA/UVB for  8 to 10 hrs a day for the vitamin D that  they need to grow. So that means getting a turtle dock also.

Leave the heater on 75 to 78 degrees always.

Their water needs to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty water cause they p**p allot.

You need a good filter system!

*** MOST IMPORTANT  You need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily drop 20 or so in the tanks and watch them disappear! This way when they swim for their dinner they get exercise also!

They need leafy greens( Romaine, Butter lettuce. Iceberg and cabbage are bad for them, any leafy greens will do) for vitamins at least 3 to 4 times a week.

  10. the turtle was doing just fine without your help.  the turtle knew what to eat and where to find it.  please return it to the same area that you found it. We don't know if you have a water turtle or land turtle.  i hope you do not have a land turtle in an aquarium filled with water.  please just release it.
