I found my turtle today it was out side in my front yard and i don't know what does the turtle eat?

A pet store that sells turtles could tell you.  

Off the top of my head, it may eat minnows.

Look in the phone directory for animal shelter or Humane Society and call them.  Or look online here search for animal shelter and then name your city. Is it a tortoise?  Usually they are pets that someone in your neighborhood had so you might want to put up a flyer although if that is the way they take care of their pet, maybe they dont deserve to own one so better to give to Humane Society. I know they may like lettuce but they need other things. Oh it was YOURS? First you need to identify what kind it is then you will know what to feed. If it is a tortoise, enter tortoise food in the search and read about that

I'm not a psychic. I need a picture or a very good description to ID a turtle. Get a field guide and ID it yourself. The Peterson series of guides has good ones. In the meantime, try earthworms, soft-bodied insects, and liver dusted with bonemeal as food for the turtle. Unless it is a box turtle, it may need to be in water to eat.
