  1. all right i wont say rat, though i will say possum, racoon, and skunk.  The skunk and possum especially are insectivores

  2. it could have been a hair ball from a cat....or perhaps something a snake upchucked? I have seen cats hack up some strange looking 'hair balls'(they aren't ball shaped at all but shaped like poo.. putting it nicely)....I've also seen snakes hack up things that looked like that too,,,but without seeing the poo myself it's hard to tell. And hate to tell ya this.....but I've seen rats have some poo that size also....rats are growing  larger than you will want to imagine....even the most predominant areas in most towns and cities have rats. I grew up out in the country(bfe) on a farm and I've seen things most people never wanna see lol. If you're really concerned about the poo and what left it behind.....you could set a live trap and try to catch the little culprit.

  3. I had rats in my old house and they're very smart and nearly impossible to get rid of but I can assure you their poo is not that big!  The good news is it's most assuredly not rats.  Raccoon is possible, I've no idea what an opossum's poo looks like.  You didn't say what state you live in and what wildlife, besides snakes, you've seen in your neighborhood which would all be helpful.  And not that we all want to see poo but a picture is worth a thousand words! lol  It would have been helpful in identifying the culprit.  (If my son were home he'd know I'm quite certain because he hunts and can identify the animals in our area by their dung)   My first guess would be snake however (and my son just got home and I've consulted with him) only young, small snakes would eat the insects you've described that appear to be in the f***s and the poo would not be that large if it in fact came from a young snake.  We raised a Ball Python to about 8 feet long and it's poo was never that big.  My son said as I did that he'd have to know what area you live in to even guess.  Raccoons do have about that size of f***s, says my son, but it is usually in a pile not in a strand if that helps at all?   I think I'd rather have a snake living in my garage than to think raccoons are making themselves at home there during the night.  Check for holes where they (or whatever it is) may be getting in and seal it up.  I did a bit (half an hours worth) of research online and came up with the link listed below.  It sounds similar to what you've encountered and includes links to photos.  Hope this helps.

  4. human. might have been me

  5. cat, skunk, racoon possum

  6. It appears to be cat poo for they eat alot of bugs..but what is weird a cat will by instinct search out dirt to poo in..they almost demand that unless they are locked in and have no other choice...or thier litter box is not clean...It isn't a rat thier poo is small "nugget like" and oval but only maybe 1/4 inch in length
