should i pack them up and bring them to goodwill or something, i dont have a big car and it seems like it would take about 4 or 5 trash bags, maybe they are full of lice or smell bad, i just feel they could be good and could be used again ?

  1. CALL THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS ASSOCIATION THEY WILL COME PICK THE ITEMS UP.

  2. DEAD MAN Clothes or Bum Stash is he naked now you took his clothes?the Earth must brace itself for a growing ice cap, rather than rising waters in global oceans caused by ice melting.

  3. I take stuff like that to Goodwill or Salvation Army.  Then again, at the place I just moved out of people used to leave perfectly good televisions and even whole living room sets in good condition in the dumpsters instead of donating them.

  4. Some people simply do not care.  They are wealthy, and do not think of donating the clothing (sounds odd, doesn't it).

Helped a former boss move.  She was throwing away very good, very high end baby clothing her twins had outgrown.  She was shocked to learn the stuff could be donated (which I did for her, since I knew she wouldn't bother).

Could be someone like that has pitched stuff from their closet.

Could be part of a nasty break up, and someone has tossed someone elese clothing.  Illegal for them to do, but NOT illegal for you to rescue them from a dumpster.

Could be a landlord has evicted someone and tossed their clothing.  Illegal for them to do, but again, NOT illegal for you to rescue the clothing.  (Landlords have to pay to have it stored at their expense for 6 months at a storage facility)

A lot of Salvation Armies, and Goodwill type thrift stores have machines they run all the clothing through, and wash them before they hit the sales rack.

If a person gets head lice, it's quiet doubtful they could afford to toss out their entire wardwrobe, and start over again.

There's one other thing that might have happened.  Someone could have passed away.  Instead of donating the clothing, they tossed it out.  Grief can be a funny thing.  Emotionally it might have been much easier to toss it out, than donate it.

I'd rescue the clothing, and take it to a thrift shop.  Open a bag up, and give the clothing a sniff, just to make sure they are not smoked damaged or some other oder that will not wash out.  You can explain to the thrift store how, where, why you found the clothing, if you'd like.

Even if the thrift store decides not to put it out on their sales racks, thrift stores still do a business selling rags.  The un-salable clothing is picked up, and turned into boxes of rags.  Companies then order these boxes to for disposable cleanup work.

  5. well, isn't THAT spatial ? what a conundrum....in a dumpster, outside where ? what city? what state? these are important factors? how do they feel ? what color are they? do they smell good? are they mens or womens clothes..childrens clothes?? are there body parts or blood in/on them? sheesh, too little information...just because they are folded doesn't mean JACK !!!! what are the tags in them ? where were they made??? it might be a test of homeland security??? or, they could be infected with biological, chemical, or nuclear(as opposed to newcular) agents...however, IF, on the off chance, they say Patagonia, North Face, or Filson on any of them....be afraid for sure, contact me, and I'll be over quickly in a hazmat suit....stay away ....I am trained in these matters...

  6. Was someone living in the dumpster?  Did you take his clothes?

  7. were you going through a dumpster??????? eewwww!!!!

  8. 1st of all I'm glad the dumpster was outside.  Take them to a laundry mat and just leave them.  Someone will steal them in about 5 Mins.

  9. Dumpster diving as they call it in Colorado is quite lucrative in the resort areas... I check em out all the time to recycle complete ski packages on Craig's list for profit. People come and buy stuff for one week's use and dump it, most are form Texas, so a license plate survey before the jump saves time. Must be nice to live that way, eh! Makes me wonder if they wear their underwear more than once... that's why I have a special dumpster diving probe stick. Welcome to 21st Century America!

  10. Call a local church or PADS group and ask them-they will gladly come and pick them up...

  11. I would wash the clothing and giving to the salvation army or St Vincent DE Paul centre if you care about people around you. if you think the laundry would waste money, then you should just leave them. Maybe, some other people would take it.

Its been in the dumpster and who knows what kind things have been there. Its your choice if you want to take them or not.
