I found two little black worms on me trying to burrow into my skin! I pulled them out half way, but they were just in my grass! What were they?!

Here are two worms that burrow into skin. I do not know how you can see these, as they are microscopic/and/or very small. Maybe they did not really burrow. Did you bleed?

Here is a possible aquatic worm. http://www.aquanourriplus.com/boutique/i...

But there are cases of such worms, and here is someone with a similar prob.

Also leeches do not burrow under the skin

or something like that he vet told me...

  4. This would likely be a hookworm. It is an intestinal parasite which does not require a host to survive. It is passed to the environment in the stools of dogs, cats, rodents and other small animals and is common in Pennsylvania. Eight hundred million people worldwide suffer from hookworms which varaciously drink the blood of their host. This is why, as with flea infestations, the host may suffer from anemia or iron deficiency once the infestation gets severe. Infection can occur via ingestion or skin penetration (commonly infested thru the feet or ankles) followed by a pulmonary migration (yeah... it digs through your body from your foot to find your instestine and then it builds a condo there), a developmental stage in the gastric glands, or an arrested state in the muscular tissue in older animals. Migration to the intestines and maturation occur in 17 days.

Spraying your yard with an anti-insect product like Ortho will kill them all. The bottle would hook up to your hose and runs perhaps $20 or less. There is a simple antibiotic which you can take to be safe here, but it would require a prescription.

    Good luck.
