  1. You can look for breed rescues to send them to if you're absolutely sure no one can take them. You can tell the rescue your story and they'll try their best to keep them together, but its not always possible.

  2. i'd say go to a local paper and put an ad in there for 2 free dogs looking for loving home. specify that you wish they both be taken.

i'm not crazy about taking them to shelters.. since they're usually way overcrowded and they don't get exercise and the fact a lot of them are put to sleep.. but you can find no-kill shelters..  atleast it's food and a safe place to sleep.

i really do hope they find a good home together.

  3. get them in a rescue, a NO KILL rescue.  it's the best thing if you can't care for them. don't give them away to any random person!

    :)

  4. Have you tryed advertising them online or in you're local paper?otherwise-Take them to a shelter or dogs home (sorry dnt no any as i live in the uk!) just tell the staff the old mans wishes and they'll be rehomed together!

  5. Don't give them to a shelter!  If you do they probably get separated.  And you gave them to a shelter, they might get put down if nobody wants them.  Here's a idea.  Maybe go to a on line site where they sell puppies and dogs.  I'll give you a website.  But if you do, say you will have to buy both dogs to have one.  Hope I help!

  6. Most all states have a rescue center for different breeds of dogs and then their is Paws it will also help  try looking into a no kill shelter they keep the animal until is finds a home. They even do foster care for pets . I wish you well

  7. If they are a particular breed, or an obvious mix looking like a breed, contact a breed rescue to see if they can take them in.

If not, contact your Humane Society or SPCA - do not take them to Animal Services (the pound), that is a kill shelter.

If you give them to someone, check to make sure that will be a good home - don't just hand them over to strangers, horrible things happen to "free to good home" dogs - you need to know the people you give them to.

It is good of you to take the trouble to re-home them, but I would suggest that you consider the welfare of the dogs before the request of their late owner.  It is difficult to find homes for 2 dogs together.   If the dogs are not absolutely bonded and will pine without each other (and that is very rare), you need to think of the welfare of the dogs first - find each one a good home if you have to.   That is much more important than the last request of someone who was probably very worried and emotional at the time.   I am quite sure that the person wanted, above all, to see his dogs safe and cared for.

    Good luck.
