I'm having a grad party and alot of my girlfriends are coming so I bought these two drink mixes to make for the party. They said to make the drinks virgin to add clear soda, so we got sprite. The package then said to freeze the drinks over night, well we did and they're now very frozen but how do I make them like slushies? I froze them with the cap off because my friend said they would need to breathe if I used soda.

  1. Yup that's true otherwise the liquid would expand and break the bottle.  Next time freeze them in freezer bags, as what you need to do to make them slushy is get the ice out and blend them in a food processor or blender.

  2. Most frozen mix your suppose to add in the soda or whatever, then just put in the blender without refreezing. Just put it in the blender now, and it should be slushie-tastic.

  3. In the blender, add a little more soda ... those drinks are meant to add alcohol, and since the alcohol will not freeze in the freezer, it make a slushy product in a few hours.

Next time ... fill a blender with ice, and add the drink mix and soda ... blend ... that's it - instant slushy (FYI the longer the blend time, the thicker the end product ... be sure to use a quality machine if you want is super think, because cheap blenders will burn out if you use them like that).

  4. Just let it thaw out a little and then stir it up.  It will be slushy in no time.
