I gained a little, but now I'm losing at 15 weeks?

So, I'm a bit overweight, which means my weight gain should be less than many women. I lost weight in the first 6 weeks (about 3 pounds). By week 14 I had gained the 3 back and put on another 4 making 7 pounds. I've been sick with a cold since Saturday (I'm still eating) and now am 1 pound less than when I got pregnant - meaning I lost 5 pounds in one week. Is this ok?

  1. its completely normal...  thesame thing happened to me...and i was concerned because before i was pregnant i was already really under weight....  but the doctor said it happens...you lose then gain sometimes...or sometimes its a rollarcoaster.....  i'm 35 weeks and ive gained 30 all together which is good...so dont stress..itll all catch up eventually  :-)

  2. Yes it is okay as long as you're losing due to eating healthier. I gained a grand total of 8 lbs when I was pregnant with my daughter. I lost about 15 right off the bat from being nauseous and such for the first few weeks then only managed to put 8 of that back on. The doc's weren't concerned because I am a petite although not thin woman and my baby was weighing in at a normal size and I was eating better than I ever had and that would help with breast feeding. I gave birth to a health 6lb 4oz baby girl who is five now and thriving!

  3. I wouldn't worry about it. The baby will take what it needs from you. I also am a bit over weight and I ended up losing 20 lbs. In fact I'm at week 25 and just stopped losing weight, I gained 6 lbs and the Dr. got on to me about it. Don't sweat it sweetie.
