  1. Please dont give them a flea bath!  use a good medical product. i would strongly suggest feline advantage. all you have to do it put a few drops on their neck thats all! but to answer your question. they are probobly just flea p**p. i doubt the are flea eggs, because the flea bath MAY have killed them.

  2. They could be flea eggs.  As for giving your cats another bath, if you see fleas still crawling on them, then i would give them another flea bath.

  3. It is flea excrement. When fleas bite the cat they take in blood. When they go to the bathroom it is tiny dry black specks that are made up mostly of your cats blood. It would be normal for some of that to be left behind after the bath. Buy a flea comb( they aren't very expensive and comb out your kitty every day. This will get rid of the specks and also any fleas not killed by the bath. If you find live fleas dip them in hot water or alcohol. If you use alcohol make sure your kitty doesn't get in to it. Good luck .

  4. may be fleas or larva eggs from the flea bath.

  5. It could be just dead fleas from the bath, but as soon as your cat is dry, fleas probably hopped right back on her. Try a flea product such as Advantage to help get rid of the nasty pests.

  6. They are NOT flea eggs:

"Flea eggs are small, only about 1/50 inch long.  They are smooth and translucent.  When found in high numbers along with flea fecal matter, the eggs are "salt" in the "salt and pepper" look of these tiny particles.  People often report seeing particles (sometimes called "flea dirt") that slightly resemble salt and pepper in pet bedding or in locations frequented by their pets.  Many people confuse the two, believing the small, dark objects to be flea eggs." *

If they are shaped like a very tiny "comma" they are flea dirt, another name for flea p**p. A quick test is to put a drop of water on them, then smear them on something white. If it looks reddish brown it's flea dirt--it has blood in it.

A flea bath or flea powder is only good for immediate treatment. Everyone who said to get Advantage is right. It is a great product and will kill any fleas that bite your cat in the future.

Now treat the premises. Wash in hot water everything that's washable where your cat spends any time. Carpets need to be treated with special flea spray for carpet or you can remove food, water and you cat and use a flea bomb according to directions.

There is a dry product that can be sprinkled on the carpet, brushed in, then vacuumed off an hour later. Ask for it at the pet store or ask the vet. It needs to be reapplied at least once a year. Fleabusters is a company that will come to your house and do it for you with their own product, but if you are up to it, buying and applying the product is less expensive.
