And I feel worse now than I ever did when I smoked. I have a really sore throat and am coughing more than I ever did. I'm using the patches so I don't feel to irritable etc but physically I feel rough! Why is this? Is it normal?

  1. Trust me after a month or so then you will not get any cravings for them anymore.

  2. Im only 13 so i dont know much because i obviously have never smoked but when my dad gave up smoking he was ill to because he body was wanting more nicotine from the cigarettes. My dad started smoking again in the end.

  3. it's normal, everything is just clearing out of your system, you will feel much better in a few days.

    WELL DONE!

  4. Yes hun thats normal

Its probally all in your head

    I started smoking when I was 15 (im 23!!)

But I had to quit when I was pregnant

Its very hard for the first few weeks it also depends on what type of cig./or cigars you smoked

Good Luck and believe me you'll feel a LOT better by the end of Sept.

  5. Yes you will I am afraid  ,  but stick with it  .  Will all be so worth while.   Yes   you have to get rid of all that tar and mucus  that has accumulated in your lungs,  will take a while  but will lessen  I assure you.  Your body has lost most nicotine now  and  your blood pressure has improved . Each week that goes by  there will be further improvements to your health. Are you doing this on your own  or are you attending a clinic or being monitored and supervised?   A bit of background  support does help.  But in a few months  you will be some much better healthwise  and certainly financially too . I gave up 18 months ago .  and bless the day I did  , I had smoked for nearly 60 years .

  6. yep, thy're withdrawal symptoms theyll ease of eventually.

  7. you'll be okay. you're just going through withdrawls.

  8. From what I've read, it's really normal.  You should start feeling better soon, but it may take a week or so.  The coughing is your bodies way of cleaning all the gunk out of your lungs.  When you cough a lot, it can make your throat raw.  Try sucking on some throat lozenges or gargling with some lukewarm salt water.  Once your lungs get the majority of the gunk out, the coughing will ease and your throat will heal up.  Good luck and hang in there!

  9. Good for you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats all normal. It your body getting rid of that poison.

    Good Luck

  10. You have withdrawal symptoms.

    No problem, need more time.

  11. congratulation!have a gum.you will be healthier and your lungs will be cleaner.

  12. it's probs normal

  13. that is normal. using patches doesn't really relieve you of the nicotine addiction. the best way is cold turkey . then after 10 days you will be free of nicotine

its a tough hill to climb but after you get past that time it will all be psychological..

wish you the best. if after 10 days you still feel bad then start again.

  14. This is normal.  I gave up smoking 5 years ago and have never looked back.  It is hard, I found the first 4 days were the worst, after that I started to feel better gradually.

Keep it up, you can do it.  You will feel so much better by not smoking it is just the first few days that are the worst.  Also think how much they cost as well, how much you will save.

    Good luck

  15. they already said so i'll just add: Congratulations on the 3 days!

just a few days more & you'll be alright

  16. Yes that is TOTALLY normal. You will find that the first time you get sick after this (with a cold or whatever) is h**l too. The theory is that it's because your lungs are finally starting to clear all the gunk out.

  17. Yes it is me and my dad stopped together last yr we have been sniffy and cough cough cough ever since but it dos get easy.We used the inhalers we did it in 2 weeks and never looked bk and hey my dads 84 yrs old he'd smoked 70 yrs .I'm so chuffed of him doing so.

so good Luck and well do for doing this..

in a yr ive saved £1,800 or just over

    my dad has saved £5.400

i smoked 20 aday my dad well over 40+

  18. Your body will be adjusting to the fact it is no longer inhaling cigarette smoke. It is all perfectly natural and nothing to worry about. Your pains will be gone within a few days.

I bet you have heard that quitting smoking is the hardest thing you will ever do. Your body will not function properly, you won't sleep or eat, you will get the shakes etc etc

Trust me when I say these are all lies. When I quit I was waiting for all these things to happen but none of them ever did. The only thing I felt was the occasional wanting of a cigarette. As time goes on this passes and quicker than you think too.

There are no real negative side effects to quitting, only positive ones. The longer you have stayed smoke free the easier the quitting process becomes. You have made the right choice, believe you can quit and you will.

    Good Luck and Good Quitting
