Question:

I get a blue WARNING screen...is it a REAL virus??

When I turn on my computer I get this bright blue screen that says warning at the top of the screen and below it proceeds to tell me what spyware is and that I have it on my computer...then it does a scan with a program Ive never had and tells me I need to download the rest of the software NOW to protect my computer from further corruption. I though it was legit but then I noticed it spelled "you're" as "your're" and as I type this question it just popped up with the same program's add saying "potential privacy violation warning"....its SpyBurner if this helps at all....can someone please help me with what I should do? I wouldnt worry too much but I dont think my old antivirus was updated so Idk how protected I am...(I dont know much about computers so I dont do the maintenence on it, I let my dad do that..but procrastination tends to set in at times with the antivirus update thing.) Any help or advice on whether this seems even legit would help so much...Thanks!

  1. i have that too! i have no clue what to do! its so annoying,.

  2. http://www.mcafeeasap.com/intl/en/Defaul...

  3. the program that is giving these alerts is the virus/spyware, you will need to download a good anti virus and anti spyware to get rid of it, google for free anti virus and free anti spyware and install them, update them and scan or go to trend micro house csll (google it) and let them run a scan, they are reliable and will get rid of this infection for you

  4. Your computer does have a virus ... do NOT download this program, because it's the company that is selling it that put the virus in your computer.  I hope you have back-ups of everything you want that were made before you started getting this 'blue screen' because the only thing to do now is trash that hard drive and install a new one, or reformat it and put everything on it again.  I know ... I got the same 'warning screen' and my husband is a computer professional (who built me a whole new computer!).

  5. if u didnt down load it its a trojan worm..back door trojan most like taking over your pc. get in safemode andd delete that program.and runn allscans you have use trend micro free scan..if you see hwere it is you can manually remove it steve

  6. Whitney, I've had this happen many a time with user's that I support.  Unfortunately dear without a doubt your system has been infected.  Your best bet (and I know it will suck) will be to re-image your PC with a fresh copy of Windows or whatever it is that your running.

  7. SpyBurner (Spy Burner)  is a new rogue-antispyware program that tries to trick users into buying full version of this malware. SpyBurner promotes itself using  Zlob.Trojan that produces false Windows-like alert messages designed to prompt the user to download SpyBurner. After installing this malware start to generate fake malware detection warningss and pop-up's. SpyBurner may block access to some web sites and may even prevent any attempts to connect to the Internet. SpyBurner can slow your computer and cause critical system errors. This is a very high risk threat and should be removed immediately.

  8. This is a virus that I and other people in my family have had before. Either you or someone on your computer clicked a link and downloaded something, which is the only way it could have gotten on your computer.

Turn off your internet, save everything you want to keep to an external hard drive, and format your hard drive.

  9. TAKE AN AMPOCILLIN

    IT GOOD FUR YA HEALTH

    FEAST UND FAMINE

    YA GOT HIVES? HEH?

    DUNT SCATCH DEM LOINS,

  10. vicstenator70's answer being the only one with real reasoning and meaning -- I will put all of what they're trying to tell you, together.

Your PC is infected with what's called a BIOS-Attack. These are

certain types of viruses which are build on massive-manipulation

of your system. Once you mentioned the blue screen ( the blue

screen of death as it's been commonly called for quite some time

now ), but mentioned that it purely said warning, and spoke of

spyware on your machine; this was a red flag.

You're dealing with a virus that may require you to reset your

BIOS, depending on just how corrupt your system is.

So, the best thing you can do rite now is just relax. The warning

messages you saw were meant to scare you into getting some

bogus spyware removal tools which will just infect your machine

and those around you even more, if they're not already too far gone.

I am going to recommend that you download AVG Free 8.0

    Here's a link to it:

    http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-F...

Next, I want you to download Zone Alarm Pro. AVG is an anti-virus

and has been rated the best free anti-virus on the market. ZoneAlarm

( or ZA ) is a very powerful firewall. ZoneAlarm is not free but offers

a free trial version -- to help keep you protected I will give you my

E-mail so you can E-mail me. I will reply with your key information

for your ZA Pro activation -- it's the least I can do.

After you've downloaded AVG and installed it, go ahead and download

ZoneAlarm and install it. Either of them ( I know ZA will for sure ) may

require you to restart your computer.

Be sure to take note of what processes and applications that Zone

Alarm tries to block while your computer starts. If you E-mail me

a list of those applications or processes then I will go through them

and tell you which ones we're looking to get rid of and also it will

help me get a better idea of what is trying to kill your machine.

Also, from the spelling errors from the message I can tell you

that this virus was definitely made in Japan or by some Japanese

a*****e ( no offense to anyone, just making a point ) who had

too much time on his hands.

Breathe easy now, though. If you want, I will assist you in getting

rid of this virus. Keep in mind, you might have to reformat

    ( or re-image as vicstenator70 mentioned ).

Lastly here's the link to download ZA Pro

    http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/be...

    here's my E-mail:

    void_3e01@yahoo.com

I hope this was of some help --

Good luck and feel free to contact me.

Your E-mail address and other private data may be

compromised as well, I would recommending changing

them regularly -- but keep track with the passwords.

Just don't keep them on your computer, the ol'

pencil and paper will work best here.

    Cheers,

    - Hex
