  1. Error #14 Requested file not found. The link you followed may be outdated or inaccurate.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have received this error, you are not using the latest RealPlayer. RealPlayer 8 Basic is a FREE, recommended update available for Windows 95/98/NT and recent Macintosh systems.

Error #14 Requested file not found. The link you followed may be outdated or inaccurate.

This message indicates that the Player was given a URL that does not go to a .rm or .ra file. This incorrect link could have been on a Web page or a URL entered in the Open Location dialog box. Error 14 on many sites may indicate that there is an incompatibility present in the system. Check the four common causes listed below to determine which solution best fits the situation.

If you were entering a URL in the Open Location dialog box, check that you included the entire URL. The URL may not be a RealAudio or RealVideo link.

If you received this message after clicking on a link in a Web page, the reference URL is wrong. You can send mail to the site manager about the bad URL.

If you receive this message every time you play a file on a Macintosh system, it is due to the label of the hard drive containing a non-printable character. This is commonly caused by pressing the DEL key to rename the hard drive. You need to rename the hard drive by highlighting the text and typing the label. Do not press the DEL key.

Error 14 can also occur if older versions of Player files are still present on the system.

  2. Could be a lot of things.  The 2 most likely causes are:

You don't have the required codecs on your system.  This can be resolved by installing Windows Media Player 11:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows...

    or

Your firewall is preventing access.  You can temporarily turn

off your firewall and see if this resolves the problem.  If you are using the XP firewall, then you should have seen a request to unblock the ports and allow access.  Other software firewalls have their own procedures to allow access to the Internet:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/music/l...

My best guess is to install WMP 11.  Good luck.
