  1. Football is the round ball game.

Rugby is the heavy contact game with the obliqular ball

Rugby League is a varient played with 13 men instead of 15

I don't know much about gridiron because it's so boring I tried watching the grand final on a day off and i fell asleep

  2. Football is for men,  rugby is for women, and soccer is for g**s of both sexes.

  3. in europe football is the game played with the round ball and the object is to kick it into the goal posts at the end of the field. In most parts of the rest of the world this is referred to as soccer.

Rugby is a full contact  like American football. In america european football is called soccer. American football and Australian football is played in their respective countries.

I think football is a name given to any sport that involves kicking the ball.

  4. Soccer is played with a round ball. You can only touch the ball with your feet or you can head it or chest it. The goalie who stands in the goal box can grab the round soccer ball. There is 11 players on each team.

Football can also mean Soccer! American football involves running or throwing a oval shaped ball and getting it down to the other end of the field where they can score things like "touchdowns". It has 11 players

Rugby covers Rugby league...Rugby union...touch rugby and so on. There are 15 players in Rugby, rugby league has 13 players and Sevens has 7 players. Players pass the ball to each other and run with it to get to the other end and score a "try". Opposite teams tackle and intercept to get the ball or a handover after 6 tackles. Rugby also has an oval shaped ball but has flatter sides

Theres HEAPS of different rules to these games, so that was like a miniature overveiw lol

  5. It's all footy mate.

In NZ, rugby is the most popular code so it's known as football

In Britain, soccer is the main code, so it's known as football

In Australia it very much depends where you live. The main code is split among three sports. In NSW most would agree that footy is rugby union. In Victoria most would agree that footy is AFL or "Aussie Rules". Queenslanders would argue that footy is in fact rugby league. Anywhere in Australia soccer is soccer.

I imagine it is the same deal in the USA - gridiron or American football gets the football label while soccer is soccer.

  6. there is one thing that they all have in common, and that is that they are all sports.

football is soccer, unless called [[american football]]. american football is played with a ball that is more egg shaped than round. The whole point of this sport is to go across the field with the ball & cross the [[touchdown]] line. Like other sports it consists of many rules.

rugby i am not exactly sure, but i believe that it's a mix of soccer & american football..

soccer is the most popular sport in the world. its played with a reg shaped ball.  The purpose of this game is to score as many goals, to make the ball in the net.  The one with the most goals wins..

  7. i think it depends because in the U.K they call soccer, football, but if you're in the U.S. its called football, and rugby is like football

  8. Soccer is a primitive game of football that eventually evolved into Rugby Union, the highest form of football! Soccer can be easily distinguished from Rugby because the Soccer ball, like the game, has no point. The Rugby ball has two, one at each end.

  9. American Football= Gridiron
