I get jealous for no reason?

So I have been best friends with this boy for a long time and we had our moments and what not. I don't like him or anything and I don't find myself really into him, but sometimes I get really jealous when we are hanging out and he talks to other girls or even about other girls. Why do I get so jealous? How can I stop?

I think it's a matter of being territorial. It doesn't neccesarily mean that you like him but more that you don't want anyone else, especially girls, to take his attention away from you. It has happened to all of us!
