I get migrains and the pain is WOW very much not discribable. I so need some relief from it, would this help??

Im thinking about Medical Marijuana and I live in Colorado. I have tried smoking it once when I got a migrain head pain and it completely fixed me!! But I don't have a card and when I went to the doctors over the last few years they couldn't explain why I was having the pain. So I have no record of treatment other than for parisites and I had none. I was going to ask my doctor about medical marijuana, but I didn't want to tell him I allready tried it. Though it worked. Are cards even obtained for this kinda thing?

I totally concur with Minix, I would also add this:  Find a Certified Massage Therapists that is certified in Deep Tissue or Myofacial work and Also specializes in Head, Neck and Shoulders.. Rhomboids are great places for finding trigger points for migraines along with around the occipital area.  If you were in the Northern California area I would have you give me a call.  I specialize in this sort of thing.  I also get migraines as well, but once I started doing this, they are rare and I'm not medicated for it.  Look at your nutrition you could be triggering it through what you are eating or NOT eating.  The list goes on.  Usually when I'm working on someone that had recently had an attack, their head, neck and shoulders were totally jacked due to stress.  Good luck and Cheers.

i'm sorry, but i don't have any knowledge of the affects that medical mj will have on nasty migraines but i do have some natural remedies.

I used to get some really nasty migraines and headaches buddy......... mine was because of a poor diet and allergies...

Allergies & dehydration & intolerances to foods or sensitivities to chemicals or perfumes, air pollution such as cigarette smoke can all trigger migraines and headaches.

A lot of people also react badly after ingesting foods and drinks labelled "diet" items as they usually contain an artificial chemical sweetner called aspartame.......... aspartame.......... the truth about aspartame is that it is an insidious sweet chemically enhanced sugar that will cause all sorts of devastating side affects if consumed in enough quantities.

Also, foods rich in magnesium have been shown to be usefull for alleviating the pain of migraine attacks ie ~leafy and green vegies, cold water fishes such as tuna, sardines, salmon and whiting, organic nuts and seeds (organic to avoid the nasty sulfites and chemicals that the commercial varieties are often preserved with) and wholegrain breads and cereals (if you can tolerate wheat)......... foods rich in magnesium will also help in resolving any issues with constipation that you may, help to resolve an acid tummy and also aid in helping you deal with the stressy every day life situations we are all exposed to ........ magnesium is known as the antistress mineral.

Drink loads of fresh filtered water daily too ..... at least 2 - 3 litres per day and try to cut right back on any dehydrating drinks such as coffee, tea, sodas and soft drinks and alcohol (if you drink any) too as all these will dehydrate you terribly and rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins ...... which are so essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning.

Iron deficiency can also cause nasty nasty headaches and migraines ........ do you eat enough iron rich foods?? migraines are a qualifying condition in oregon.

you'd be far better off just getting a perscription for vicodin. I never had a full blown migraine after I got those.

I don't believe mm helps at all for migraines.

if it works ..use it. Get a card from your doctor or a doctor that is cannabis friendly ..Tell him you used it and it worked.

Well, you are lucky enough to live in one of the 12 or 13 states that have medical marijuana, although I am not sure if you can obtain a Rx for migranes. You should talk to your doctor and see. Tell him you tried it before and it worked, it is not illegal to have smoked it in the past, it is illegal to possess currently (without a Rx), except where you live, it has been decriminalized, so even if you had a whole ounce they can't do more than slap a $100 fine, no prision. So talk to your doctor, and toke up.
