  1. Well, it all depends on your pain tolerance, but for me it was a 5 because it definately could have been worse. just make sure you have some ibuprofen in the house and you'll be fine. [[:

  2. it's different for everyone. for me, i couldn't eat, brush, or floss for 2 days straight when i frst got them on.i could only wash my mouth out with sum listerine and consume liquids for about 3 days. for me, it was awful, about a 10!!!!!!!!! but maybe it won't be so bad for u. good luck though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. when they put them on they wont hurt but your mouth will have to get used to them and you might feel a little odd but it will start hurting when you try to eat and they might scrach your lips and cheeks...but in the end its worth it...id rate it a 4

  4. 0.......they didnt hurt when they put them on or after besides trying to eat....it just felt weird

  5. 9 at the first day, 6 next day and 3 then 2 then you will never even notice pain :)

  6. [0] hahaha who ever said it would hur tis messing around with your mind it does.nt hurt i've had mine since nov.23 2006 :]

it only hurts alittle bit for the first week TO EAT ONLY

  7. i got braces when i was 7:[ had em for 7 years...you get used to the after a while...

  8. Depends on how much change your teeth will be going through. Actually getting them put on won't hurt, but afterwards you will experience some discomfort. The good thing is, it's not really a constant pain... and it's more of a tight feeling than "ow, I can't live with this" pain. Soft foods, and warm beverages will help and the pain definitely goes down over time. After you first get them on it will probably take a week or so to feel "normal" but the worst pain will be the first 48 hours. I even massaged my gums when I had braces to make it feel a bit better. I'll give you a scale score of 5 and say good luck!

  9. 2-8 depending on how you tolerate pain...  It doesn't really hurt, it's just this really annoying ache that you feel once in a while after you've had your braces for a few hours, but tylenol/other pain medicine usually fixes it.

Eating can be pretty hard though, and if you gag at regular dental appointments, you'll gag a bit when they stretch your mouth.

  10. Well, it hurts a little in kind of an achy way when you eat or put pressure on your teeth but thats just them adjusting and moving. It eases after the first couple of days and your might feel a mild pain when you get it tightened. I've had one since 1st March 2007. Nearly done now :). After a few weeks you can't even feel it!! I don't realize it's there at all any more. You might get food stuck in it so if you can get interdental brushes at your dentist or supermarket, take one to school/work with you to just clean any visible stuff. Its really not that bad! Hope I Helped!

  11. the procedure wont hurt at all, just takes about an hour to do. it will begin to hurt a couple hours after done. try taking tylenol/mtorin before going in and throughout the day for soreness. i did not eat normal until about a week and a half later. i lived off of pudding, smoothies and mashed potatoes for that week. it will feel really weird at first, but you will get used to it, trust me!

as far as what to not eat for the two years, Id say just follow whatever your otho tells you, only he knows best!

i go get mine tightened tomorrow! this also brings back the soreness but it only last for a day.

  12. I had braces myself. I got them in 8th grade. The process of getting them is not that bad. After they are on your teeth will be sore to chew food. I would say it is maybe a 2 or 3 on the pain scale. For me the worst part was when they had to tighten the braces every few months.
