  1. Well get it/them grounded.

  2. Uh, first things first... stop touching the computer.

It sounds like you have a hot wire shorting with your computer case, making it live.  This is a deadly situation.  If you were grounded better OR if the short was more serious, you would be feeling more than the small shock you are experiencing.

If you used a volt meter to check the voltage between the computer case and ground you would probably find that the computer case is in excess of 40 VAC; I've seen situations where the chassis of devices is in excess of 80 VAC with similar effects.

Since you do not have circuit grounds in your house a circuit breaker is not being tripped and the hazardous situation is continuing to exist.

My suggestion is to at least purchase "portable GFCI" or "inline GFCI" devices for all of your appliances.  They do not make ungrounded outlets quite as safe as grounded outlets but they will be safer.

  3. Do you get shocked when you touch anything metal or just your computer?

  4. go get a grounding rod, some copper wire and attach it to your ground. better yet call an electrician

  5. Do you have a ground rod.......and open you service panel and see if there's a gound rod wire hooked up inside sometimes electritions hook to plumbing pipes for grounding and someone remodels and disconects and forgets to reground your house..........This is very important to you.....have someone check it soon.......esp. if you have children.........all the best. don't wait.......get it done

  6. You have a bad ground and this is a big job to have an electrician rewire your house with grounded outlets.

Your surge protector for you computer needs to be grounded now or it's not going to work right and you can buy a plug at the hardware store that plugs into a 2 prong outlet and has a s***w to put a wire that you need to attach to a water pipe to ground that one outlet. that could save your computer but you still need to have an electrician find out what is grounded out that is shocking you.

    Good luck
