  1. Sounds like you just need to connect the video cable from your DVD player to your television and select the input on your TV corresponding to the connection that you used to connect your DVD to your TV -and voila!


  2. You are missing the center channel. Check the connection from the surround sound receiver to the center channel speaker. Most of the voice information in a movie is mixed through the center channel. The other channels (speakers) are for effects. Good luck
