  1. Yes I definatly Agree. Some want it all there own way which I feel restricts creativity. Sorry to hear you were not given enough support, Why not reach out to Yahoo Answers, Maybe somebodys been through exactly the same. I know this isnt really the point because your teachers should be there for you. Make sure they are not just trying to scare you into working harder in this last 4 weeks, I know from personal experience that this is a tactic used by teachers. Teachers have targets to meet so if you fail, so do they.

Hope it all turns out good in the end.

    Good luck

  2. I agree my Graphics teacher was a art teacher and had done graphics at GCSE level years ago so they thought he was ok to teach us!!

After complaining to the head of design and technology twice, deputy head twice and headteacher three times with no progress i gave up trying and ended up self teaching myself everything.

  3. I would just like to say that their is nothing wrong with the standard of teacher training in this country, is a long, stressful and time consuming course that trust me you will only complete if you truly have the dedication to do so, many parents do not support teachers in their role and children who do not want to learn will not learn, what can you do to force them? The curriculum is changing to suit the needs of children, teachers are expected to make their teaching suit the learning style of each child, so tell me how it is entirely their fault? You knew what your coursework was, if you were unsure you should have contacted a teacher and if your teacher couldn't or didn't help I'm sure there was another willing to. You cannot blame all your short comings on other people, it will get you no where in the end.

  4. I'm sorry, I feel you pain, they have effed me more than once as well.

  5. yes some teachers forget what they are getting paid for!  and the parents should stay on top of this!  my sons teacher spent more time discouraging him rather than helping him with his bad math grades till i told the principle exactly they way she makes my son feel and how i will not tolerate it! now she is just the nicest she can be even though my son says he hears her in the hall talking about him since i complained....i said dont pay her any mind and dont give her anything to talk about and i will pay her a surprise visit! deal with her face to face!

and i am normally not an overprotective person nor is my son an overly sensitive. but every year there is atleast one teacher who forgets what she is there for and that the parents taxes pay her salary!

if you dont want to teach or help then get down to the unemployment office and stop wasting precious time!

  6. I think the balance of probability is simply that you're not bright enough, or committed enough, to pass your courses.

Even if the teachers are substandard, there's nothing to stop you working independently.

  7. There weren't any report cards/progress reports along the way?

Do you have any responsibility in this or is it just someone else's fault?

  8. Its a shame isnt it?There are some teachers like that at my school (actually most are like that)and the thing is cos its GCSE's it could be the difference in what grade you get. But you seem smart enough, im sure you'll be fine, just try your best b/c thats all you can do.GOOD LUCK!

  9. YES LIKE GEE

  10. sure, they do have some amazing teachers in the world, but some of them are not teaching because they love it.

    don't worry

it seems like a big deal but this will pass.

do your best and move on

  11. My daughter is a special needs teacher and she tells me the very same thing that she is astonished at the lack of knowledge some teachers have. And these have the future of this country in their hands.

I blame the system and way of teacher training these days.

I hope things pan out for you. Really if you have cause to complain then you should. Only by this action will things improve for you.

Not all teachers are c**p but those who are need to told as part of their own personal develoment needs and they owe it to pupils to improve their own standards and quality of knowledge and understanding of the subjects they teach.

It's all a quick fix these days and it's just not good enough least of all for the pupil..

  12. This happened to me as well, my teacher didn't bother telling me when the final draft for some coursework was due until FOUR DAYS BEFORE! I had three pieces to do in a few days... absolute torture.

Then there was back at secondary school, when one teacher cheated by giving his entire GCSE maths class the answers for an exam and more or less doing their coursework for them. He got found out by Edexcel and the whole class subsequently got a U, even the ones who had done the work on their own. Thankfully this was two years before I did my GCSEs and he got sacked so I didn't have him ever.

To evaluate, some teachers are appalling, others are good. I think they should do more screening of teachers as the effect of a bad teacher can ruin someone's life. Some are good and they need to be valued more because their job is essential.
