you can speak in English and also use sign language.

if you stay in a hotel, ask your receptionist how to get to the bookstore and buy yourself a dictionary. You can also ask how to get to the places like church and restaurants

It depends what you mean by a stay.  If you mean just a holiday/vacation then it won't be expected that you learn the language, and as long as you know a bit of English and are staying in an around the larger cities, then chances are you will be able to communicate & find things out by asking in English

If you mean you are moving to live (either working, studying etc) in another country then in order to "enjoy" the first thing you should do is learn the language, talk to many people and start to understand the culture a little more so that you can integrate.  If the locals see you making an effort then they will be a lot more accepting of you and you will be able to make a 'home' there much easier
