Question:

I have no insurance so I need medicaid to cover the cost of having the baby. The father however is not going to be a part, I don't want them to go after him for child support though. Do I have to just tell medicaid I don't know who the father is for them not to go after him. Or is there another way for my medical expenses to get paid from another provider. Please help thanks.

  1. If you're looking for welfare for his child, then we the taxpayers have a right to get reimbursed for what WE are paying for HIS child.

You can't "opt out" of rights of recovery, sorry.

And if you tell medicaid you don't know who the father is, they'll check again in a year or two - if you are planning on not giving him any parental rights, and not listing him on the birth certificate, and not collecting child support, that will work.  Otherwise, it will backfire.

If you want the expenses paid by another provider - you could marry him, and have him add you to his health insurance through work.
