  1. Try a search on "Dominican Republic real estate" or some such.  You would want to deal with a licensed agent and would want to research what the laws are pertaining to non-citizens owning property.

  2. Well, i go to dominican republic every summer since my family is from there and my grandpa owns land in Bani, it's like an hour away from Santo domingo and ill tell you they have the best land but they really dont trust people from other places becuase it is a small town. if you can find someone who can make the connections and take lots and lots of trips down there.

  3. Land doesn't sell by the acre here, it sells by the sq. meter.  4043 sq meters to an acre.

Prices run from 25 cents a meter to 400 Dollars a meter depending on location, size and Location, location and of course LOCATION.  Beachfront is most expensive and exclusive gated communities can also be very expensive.

There are many ways not to get cheated.  I never give a deposit to anyone other than my own attorney.  Never put that money in the hands of ANYONE ELSE.

Depending on where you are buying would depend on who I would recommend.  I use Guido Perdomo on the north coast and Dolly Cabrera in Santiago.  I haven't bought anywhere else but have done upwards of 50 deals here both for myself and friends who aren't here all the time.

Be way more careful here than anywhere else you have done business before.  These people are out to get you and I can tell you stories of deals gone south that will curl your toenails and put you in a lot of pain.  I just never lose money because I don't give them any until I have my attorneys assurance of good title.

Good luck and if you are thinking on the north coast I would be happy to help you.

  4. Well, last year I had some problems with buying land and the construction as well and " Happy Feet" helped me and resolved almost al my problems. Before some people tried to double-cross me and he helped me to resolve this problem.

So I can say only one thing: If you have problems in Puerto Plata rely on him, he knows how to deal with it.
