  1. Out of everything you could be worrying about going to SPAIN, you are worrying about your EARS popping on an airplane? wtf?! anyways..just chew gum or maybe put in cotton in your ears.

  2. The popping is caused by pressure differences - I always find that sucking a  hard sweet ( candy if you're American  ) and swallowing clears the ears ! Good luck and have a great time ...

  3. suck a lollipop

  4. Sit on one foot.

  5. Chew gum or suck on a hard sweetie, if the pressure builds up in your ears, pinch your nose and blow keeping your mouth shut, that should clear the pressure in your ears and then keep on chewing or sucking the sweet

  6. this is what i do when your ears pop you should give a big yourn

  7. Suck a sweetie

    Chew chewing gum

    Keep swallowing

    Drink juice

    Use earplugs

If your ears need to pop:

    Blow your nose

hold your nose(as if their was a bad smell!) and try and blow your nose

    Hope this Helps!!

    Have a nice holiday!!

  8. Suck on a boiled sweet or chew gum. They may pop a little bit, but once you are up if you are sucking a sweet, then swallow and then they should be fine! Do the same on landing as well because people forget about that, [I did] and ears can still pop

  9. wear ear plugs or listen to music?

  10. Suck on a sweet like a Tic-Tac or a Mint during take-off.

  11. try sucking on a hard boiled sweet just as you are about to take off something like a peardrop  or wherthers originals have a fab time in spain

  12. Keep on chewing on gum, but if they do get blocked, then hold your nose and swollow your own salivar.

    Sounds gross but it works!

  13. I'd be more worried about the plane exploding.

  14. a doctor once told me that when your ears start to pop on a flight hold your nostrils together and blow through your nose it sounds daft but does work have tried it myself

  15. Chew gum or suck on candy.

  16. chew gum.

but im sure that wont just do it because when my boyfriend came back from teh moutains, he was chewing gum but his ears still popped.

maybe search on google for better tips.

  17. chew gum

  18. Your ears pop in air planes because the air high above the surface of Earth is less dense than air near the surface. As you ascend in an airplane and the air pressure decreases, the air trapped in your inner ear will cause your eardrums to push outward. This expansion causes not only the discomfort you feel before your ears "pop," but also a decrease in hearing ability, because the pressure on your ears drums makes the sound harder to transmit. Your body can equalize the pressure between your inner ear and the atmosphere by allowing some air from your inner ear to escape through the Eustachian tubes, two small channels that connect the inner ears to the throat, one on each side. When they open, you feel the pressure release and you hear the change because it’s happening in your ear. This equalization of pressure is the "pop."

On the way down from an air plane flight, the air pressure increases, while your inner ear is still at the lower pressure it has adjusted to. Now, the extra pressure pushes the eardrums inward. Eventually, the pressure will equalize again, but many people don’t like to wait, they want to "pop" their ears.

For take-offs and landings (the WHOLE way up, and starting from the BEGINNING, or TOP of descent - about an hour before landing) the best ways to alleviate pressure are to:

    *Chew gum

    *Drink something

*Suck on a hard candy or mints

    *Yawn

*Pinch the nostrils shut, take a deep breath in through the mouth, then force the air into the back of the nose as if trying to blow your nose

*Place hot damp towels (usually like the ones distributed to first and business class before take-off and landing to freshen up with - just ask a flight attendant for them) or paper towels that have been soaked in hot water and wrung out at the bottom of two paper or styrofoam cups, then hold the cups over the ears.

*Another trick that used mainly on babies and small children, but can be used on anyone, is to gently but with some pressure, rub your neck repeatedly from the chin to the base of the neck. This will cause a swallowing motion that will relieve pressure build-up in the ears.

  19. chew gum whilst in the air.

  20. Your ears pop in air planes because the air high above the surface of the Earth is less dense than air near the surface, because air near the surface has all the air above it pushing down.

You can't stop the popping unless you want to experience a fair bit of pain from the pressure in your ears.

However, as numerous people have mentioned, chewing gum, or anything really, will help keep the irritation to a minimum.
