I go to tge gym, how do i increase my running speed should like?

do a lot off weights on my legs that are heavy or what

  1. do the treadmill or run outside for long periods of time

What is the distance you run that you want to increase speed at?  You can do intervals once or twice a week to help with speed.  That is run at a higher pace for a certain time or distance followed by slowing down and then repeat.  Intervals can be tough to first timers so don't be surprised if you get tired quickly.  This is to increase your speed slowly instead of simply trying to run your desired distance faster.  Weights does help especially for running hills.  And of course simply running more often will lead to more speed.
