I got 221g refusal for my wife's visa ; they told me to wait 2-3 months?

Hi,

I am a US citizen, and I have I-130 approved to bring my wfie to the US. my wife is an Iraqi -kurdish origin .

on April 19th , 2007 , she got 221G refusal from US embassy in Amman , Jordan , they told her to wait 2-3 months becuase further adminstrative processing needed ; the two months already past and have not heard much since then. can anyone help me here and let me know how long this will take ? also what do i need to do from side so i can expedite this ; I started my paper work back in Jan, 2006, and my wife has not gotten her visa. I contacted the embassy via email , if they needed any additional documnets but they said , that they have not gotten any repose yet . I appreciate any help or any advise.

  1. It is vitally important when applying for any visa with any country (especially the USA and UK) that your documentation is in order. You are wasting time and money asking for visa's to be processed if your paperwork is not in order. Sometimes it is worth checking with an immigration lawyer before you file paperwork to make sure it is in order.

  2. You have to remember that there is no right to immigrate into the United States.  When an American gets married to a citizen of a foreign country the American is always taking a chance that a visa will not be issued.

    At this point you should consider retaining an attorney who is highly experienced in immigration law.  You should also contact your Congressman (best to visit his/her local office) and request assistance in getting information from the US embassy in Jordan as to exactly what is needed for the case to proceed.
