Do the best you can!  Different schools require different scores for different grades.  Any competent instructor can create a test so easy that the average will be 95% or so hard that the average will be 50%, so the percentages are arbitrary.  If you want an answer to your question, only your instructor can answer.

DO get a good night's sleep.  A rested brain is the best preparation for a test.

A 33/40 is an 82.5%.  To end up with an A, you'll have to get A's on your exams or very high B's (88%/89%) depending on your current overall grade.
