  1. you have a few options,

    port the rear deck

    fold down your rear seats

switch to a ported box (will lose some of the sound quality but will hit almost twice as hard, and the sound quality that comes from a sub only really matters in a truck or SUV because the sub is right there with you- in a car is does not matter as much because you cant tell when it has to come through the seats)

  2. putting down the rear seats will work but it just looks stupid

try that if it makes a difference then try the following if not check your wiring for reverse polarity

what i have done to that same car is remove your 6x9s from the rear and install smaller speakers i have done 5 1/4 inch and tweeters on the side facing forward that way the air escapes the trunk through the side of the 5 1/4's

it seems to work for me

  3. You may have them wired wrong or not enough power.  I have 2 of the same same speakers in my BMW Z4 which has no trunk space at all.  I built the box custom to JL Audio Specs, 1.25 cubic feet per speaker.  I have separate Alpine amps going to each one MRP 850, so each sub is getting 850 RMS watts.  They absolutely pound!  Funny being the middle aged guy embarassing all the younger guys that think they know something about car audio.

  4. well the altima does have thick rear seats i suggest when you don't have passengers in the back lower one of the seats or both this will produce a much louder bass and better sound and air flow but a new box isn't necessary.
