  1. no, cradle cap is strictly on the head..

use baby oil on her head, and work through it with a comb to loosen it, then an hour or so after its all soft, wash her hair... and just keep combing it a few times a day and it will go away

  2. Could be a heat rash. It also depends on what the rash looks like.

Here is a website that you can compare the rash with

Cradle cap isn't a rash really. The best way to remove that is to lay the baby on your lap put a bit of baby lotion or baby oil on the scalp and just gentle work a baby comb on the scalp and loosen it. Then wash the child's hair to wash out the loose skin.

  3. cradle cap is more like dry skin than a rash.

unless it is all over her body, it is probably just baby acne..very very common in little babies.  i have a 3 1/2 week old with acne on his face. the best thing i have found for getting rid of it (aside from making sure he is clean..) is to put lotion on his face after a bath every other day (acne comes from dry and oily skin..) and after i feed him or after he has been crying for long enough to make himself "sweat" to wipe his face with an unscented baby wipe. i have been doing this for about a week and it is going away (after the doctor told me there is really nothing you can do about it..)

whatever you do, do NOT apply anything such as hydrocortizone to the baby. it will thin his skin and is not intended to be used in children under two.

    good luck!
