I got a DUI, will my auto insurance drop me?

I have AAA, and got a DUI ast year, my insurance hasent gone up yet, but I know it will. Do you think AAA will drop me, since they are such a huge company, and will I have to go get some cheap ol' coverage now? I pay around $125 at the beginning of my policy for the year, then it goes down a little each month, my last payment is around $30, then it starts over again. Ive been w/ them for a few years, w/ a perfect record, until now. The DUI wasnt for alcohol or illegal drugs, it was for prescription medication. I tried a new med, but made the choice to drive also, and this is what I got. Any help?

  1. For auto insurance the most efficient way to get a great rate is do a rate comparison on car policies. Make certain that you choose similar policies with the same deductibles, auto type, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.InsureAutoNow.info since they have big name insurers and will give many quotes on auto insurance polices.

  2. no

  3. Bad results start with bad choices.

If they don't drop you, look for some large rate increases. Hi risk is what it's called.

  4. With a clean record (except for the DUI) most auto companies will not drop you but expect a huge jump in premiums. It would be wise to start shopping around for a new policy to get a decent rate.
