  1. iam not real  good in math but i would have to say ummmm 2?

  2. Ohms are a measurement of electrical resistance, NOT POWER (dumbass).

  3. Ohms are a measurement of the amount of power your amp is producing, the lower the ohms, the more power it produces. Although, there is a problem, some amps and or subwoofers can't handle certain levels. For example, some amps can only go as far down as 2 ohms. If you go any lower than that, your amp will overheat, or get fryed, because it can't handle that much. Then comes the part where you end up with a $100 repair bill. The amount of ohms an amp can stand, or has is usually located on the amp itself, or in the manuel. The amount of ohms an amp is handling, depends on how you wire you system.

  4. Let's see here:

The only Alpine sub that claims 1500W is the Alpine Type R.  The 1500W claim is the peak power the sub can handle. (For instance, one short power burst.)  The more important rating of a sub is the RMS rating.  This is the power handling rating the sub can continually take from an amplifier.  With the Type R's, that rating is 500W.

Alpine Type R subs come in 2 models: Dual 2 Ohm & Dual 4 ohm.  Each of them allow for different wiring configurations to an amplifier.  The 2 ohm / 4 ohm are the impedance levels of the sub.  When you wire your sub to your amp, you want to match the impedance level.  If you have the Dual 4 ohm sub, you'll want to wire the two voice coils together in parallel(which produces a 2 ohm impedance level to the amp).  You'll want to make sure your amp is capable of running at a 2 ohm level.
