I don't really know anything about caring for bikes, I ride it almost everyday on the beach path and I hear the salt water breeze can harm it, but when Im done i keep it locked in the underground garage in my building. I've had the thing two month but haven't done any matainance on it, is there some type of regular matainance you do on a bike.

  1. I agree with M R.  Check the tires air pressure.  If that doesn't help get some oil and lube the chain.  That is the part most likely to be damaged by salt air.  If you are worried about the frame rusting I was just keep a lookout for deep paint scratches, if you find any clear nail polish will seal up the scratch just fine.  I wouldn't worry about the salt air too much though.  It will take years for it to do any appreciable damage to a bike.  Its not like a car.  The metal tubes are a higher grade of metal and don't rust or corrode through very quickly.  Cruisers are relatively maintenance free.

  2. Pump up the tires - that's the most common reason for your complaint.

  3. if you take it to a bike shop, they can lube it up and make it like new again and you will be able to ride much longer
