I take one teaspoon a day for about three weeks. As soon as I stop taking it the infection goes away and as soon as I start up again I get the infection back.

  1. depends on whats in the oil. i had a bladder infection not to long ago and it was caused by ecoli which is a common bacteria to give bladder infections. so possibly there could be some sort of bacteria in it that is making you have problems. either check with your doctor to see if you should stop taking it or try a new bottle maybe that one is bad.

    good luck

  2. Isn't Virgin Coconut oil supposed to stop infection?  I kinda doubt it was the oil.

Ok, well, the bladder is part of the uninary tract, hence making it a urinary tract infection.  First, it could be a bacterial infection which can affect any part of the uninary tract.  Although urine contains salts etc, it also has bacteria.   When bacteria get into the bladder or kidney and multiply in the urine, they cause a infection.

A common infection is cystitis...which is not as serious as pyelonephritis (I doubt u have this).  However, if u have discomfort, chances are u may have cystitis.

Luckily, urinary tract infections are treated easily if seen by a doctor promptly.

I'm definately NOT a pro at this...but first, why are u taking the oil?  If it isn't for anything serious, stop for a few weeks...if the infection continues GO see a doctor.

For now, increase water intake, avoid very sugary foods, drink cranberry juice-unsweetened, and take Vitmin C with every last meal of ur day because this will shorten the duration of the infection

Alcohol+sugars feed bacteria.  Vitamin C retards growth of baceria.

But all in all, follow the directions above.  If your still concerned go see a doctor.

Oh, and by the way, if the pain is in the back side of ur body, chances are it's a kidney infection, not a bladder infection

  3. make sure its just 100%organic virgin coconut oil and nothing else. if there are other ingredients/pesticides then they are probably to blame.

  4. There is no way that any bacteria in the coconut oil can cause a bladder infection. The human body is not constructed like that. If the oil is affecting your bladder at all it must be from something else contained in the oil. But I have doubts that it is the oil causing it. Is there nothing apart from coconut oil that you can try for whatever your trying to do?

  5. It could be how it is processed or maybe you should consume it.  Somethings that are good for some are not good for others.  The main thing to remember is that just because something is good doesnt mean that all companies produce "good quality" products.

Example.  Green tea is  a great tea with many benefits.  Lipton makes green tea drinks.  These drinks have 0 benefit and is actually not good for you.

You have to make sure you are getting a high quality product.
