I have him in a 15 gallon aquarium with 3 tiny catfish and some live plants. They all seem to be doing well but I am concerned about my tadpole's tail. It is not strait as it was when i first got him and it almost looks like it has a bump on one side of it ( i'm hoping its not a tumor or some kind of growth) His legs have grown significantly in the past 6 weeks, and I have read that some Bullfrogs are in the tadpole stage for up to 2 years so I don't know if this is just a normal part of tadpole metamophisis or if it is going to be something fatal.

  1. I've seen this before and it has no effect on them since the tail goes away eventually. Since your tadpole has grown legs, you need to make sure it has a place to get out of the water since bullfrogs don't stay in the water 24/7. As for the tadpole stage taking up to 2 years, this is true, but since yours now has legs, the tadpole stage is pretty much over.

  2. Metamorphosis between a tadpole and frog includes removal of tail. Don't worry about the tail, it will vanish in no time as it develops.
